Obituary of Eunice Holowatuk

HOLOWATUK - Mrs. Eunice Holowatuk wife of the late John Holowatuk passed away on Wednesday, 9 November 2011 surrounded by her children and her latest bright star of just over 2 weeks, granddaughter Lucia. Mom was born 21 May 1945, daughter to Michael and Victoria Zrymiak and sister to her two great brothers, Akym and Orest. She went to a few schools and then married her special and best friend, John, on 20 May 1967. She worked various places but her real work was loving and caring for her family and friends. She was blessed with four children, two great daughters-in-law and two great sons-in-law, ten wonderful grandchildren and her special friends. Her greatest blessing was the love of her Heavenly Father that sent his Son, Jesus Christ, who died for her sins so that she may have eternal life. He was her comforter in difficult times and her Saviour. Mom put her trust in God rather than man, praying always and being thankful, even in difficult times; this was a great lesson that she learned on her journey. Left to cherish her memory are 4 children and their spouses, Ron (Veronica), Brian (Shawna), Trina (Steve) and Nancy (Shayne). Her 9 grandchildren; Kaeden, Thomas, Kyrell, Michael, Denhyn, Grace, Sarah, Jacob and the most recent star, 2 week old Lucia Stella Cameron. Surviving also are her brother Orest, her brothers-in-law Nick, Paul and Walter, her sisters-in-law Olga, Gail, Elaine and Alice as well as many nieces and nephews. Eunice was predeceased by her beloved husband of 44 years, John, her parents, Michael and Victoria, her brother Akym, her mother and father-in-law Mary and Anthony, her brothers-in-law Steve, Harry and Bill, her sister-in-law Mary and her granddaughter Faith. An evening prayer service for family and friends was held on Saturday, November 12, 2011. Funeral Services were held on Sunday, November 13, 2011 from Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Pastor Russell Richardson and Celebrant Crystal Bailey officiating. Tributes and Words of Remembrance were given by Eunice's children. Sister Edna Richardson and organist, Amanda Buhler led the congregation in the singing of the hymns ‘To God Be the Glory' and ‘This Is the Day'. Special musical selections were ‘Amazing Grace' sung by granddaughter, Grace Holowatuk and ‘May the Circle Be Unbroken' sung and played by Edna Richardson. Honourary bearers were all of Eunice's grandchildren and all who were a blessing in her life and spoke of salvation in Jesus name. Interment followed in the family plot in the Garden of St. John at the Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Ron Holowatuk, Brian Holowatuk, Shayne Klatt, Steve Cameron, Doyle Zrymiak and Dwayne Zrymiak serving as casket bearers. The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to all the medical and nursing staff for their professional care and compassion as well as family and friends for their support. As was Eunice's wish, the family asks that random acts of kindness be made in lieu of donations and flowers. Condolences can be forwarded to the family at www.baileysfuneralhome.com . Arrangements were entrusted to Bailey's Funeral Home. Service Information Sunday, November 13th, 2011 2:00pm, Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre Interment Details Yorkton Memorial Gardens
