Obituary of Bradley Dratwa
DRATWA - Bradley Dratwa of Regina, beloved son of Doreen Pohorelic passed away September 5, 2011 at the Regina General Hospital at the age of 46 years. Bradley John Dratwa was born on March 20, 1965 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. At 3 months of age, Bradley found his way into loving arms of his adopted parents Edward and Doreen (nee Spilchak) Dratwa. He spent his childhood in Yorkton, where he attended Burke and Dr. Brass elementary schools and then finally St. Joseph's junior high school. As a child Bradley participated in many community activities, such as Cubs, Boy Scouts and Yorkton Minor Baseball. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially when the family went on fishing trips. He grew up quickly and chose to leave home when he was still a teenager. As a young man in his twenties, Bradley experienced the birth of his only child Andrew. Bradley loved his son and attempted to settle down and raise a family. After a couple of years, Bradley was unable to commit to this type of lifestyle. He was a free spirit with a sense of adventure and as such this lead the path of his life. As the years went by Bradley made the difficult choice to give up his parental rights, so that Andrew could have a more traditional family. He worked various types of construction jobs throughout his adult life. These jobs changed frequently, depending upon where his journeys took him. Bradley spent his last few years in the city of Regina, where at the age of 46 suffered a stroke. After a short battle fighting for his life, Bradley passed away peacefully. Bradley will be lovingly remember by his mother Doreen (Bernie) Pohorelic; sister Leanne (Dan) Cross; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Bradley was predeceased by his father Edward Dratwa, step-father George Pohorelic, grandparents and nephew Lucas Puchala. The Funeral Service was held on Friday, September 9th at Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Rev. Father Ray Lukie, C.Ss.R. officiating. The responses were led by Ed Pindus, Colette Karapita & Parish Choir Members. The interment followed in the Garden of St. Luke at Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Doreen Pohorelic serving as urn bearer.
