Obituary of Gerald Aichele

AICHELE - Gerald Aichele of Melville, Saskatchewan, entered his eternal rest on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at St. Peter's Hospital at the age of 71 years. Gerald was born on March 17, 1940 in the Orkney district of Saskatchewan, a son to Jacob and Pauline (nee Prosko) Aichele. Gerald received his education at Jaroslaw School and helped his parents on the farm. After receiving his education Gerald worked at Swifts Canadian for a while then was the manager of Co-op Poultry Farm. While at the Poultry farm he purchased land in the Hubbard district and farmed there for a while then sold and purchased some land by Cana where he farmed until retiring in 2008. Gerald was a member of the Melville fish & Game, Saskatchewan Wheat pool and the Co- op. In his younger years he enjoyed playing baseball and used the orthodox pitch that made the team change back catcher because of his hard, fast pitching arm. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching football, hockey and gardening. His greatest passion was farming and spending time with his children. Predeceased by his father Jacob and his mother Pauline. Gerald leaves to cherish the memory of his children, Melanie, Dion, Shawn (Natasha) and her children, Kenden, Landen, Mandison and Hayden; his siblings, Mavis (Rueben) Alberts, Shirley Diduck, Harvey (Marie) and Dennis (Wendy); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relative and friends.
