Obituary of Fuchs Dora

FUCHS - Dora Fuchs was born on May 25, 1920 in the Calder district of Saskatchewan; a daughter of Helen (nee Fustey) and Kost Shullman. On November 7, 1939 Dora was united in marriage to Jack Rapchalk. This union was blessed with a son Norman, and two daughters, Lorraine & Gail. The couple farmed in the Calder district. Following Jack's sudden passing on July 8, 1977 Dora remained on the farm until moving to Yorkton. Dora eventually met Carl Fuchs of Grenfell, and the couple were united in marriage. After Carl's passing, Dora returned to Calder for some years, before failing health brought her to Yorkton, and then to the Yorkton and District Nursing Home, where she passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2011. She was 91 years of age. Dora loved nature, especially gardening and tending to her flower beds. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, crocheting, cooking, baking, and playing cards. Her greatest joy was spending time with family, friends and neighbors. She was an amazing mother, who possessed a caring and generous heart, she always greeted people with a cheerful smile. Dora was predeceased by her parents, Helen and Kost; sister: Mary Rist, half-sister Lena Kosteniuk; brothers Mike, Pete and Andrew, brothers-in-law: Herb Rist, Steve Kosteniuk, Bill Rogoza; half-brothers Elie and John; sons-in-law, Steve Daneluk and Ernie Adam. She leaves to cherish her memory: son Norman (Jean) and their family, son Jason (Kim, and sons Caelin and Tristen), Trevor (Nicole, and daughter Layla); daughter Lorraine Adam and her family, son Tim Daneluk and his son Jacob; daughter Gail Mack and her family, daughter Michelle and son Trevor (Vicki) and Jim (Donna) Fustey. Also sisters: Nell (Richard) MacPherson, and Ann (Bill) Rogoza, as well as a brother George (Barb). Numerous nieces, nephews, and her many other relatives and friends. The funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 from the Holy Transfiguration Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Yorkton with Very Rev. Father Mel Slashinsky as celebrant. Cantor, William Kozey, assisted by members of the Parish Choir, led in the singing of the responses. The crossbearer was John Shullman. The interment took place in the Yorkton City Cemetery with Jason Rapchalk, Trevor Rapchalk, Michelle Mack, Trevor Mack, Timothy Daneluk and Jacob Daneluk serving as the casketbearers.
