Obituary of Mary Wenc

Mary Wenc was born in the Jedburgh district on May 9th 1922; a daughter of Alex and Jennie (nee Federko) Karapita; the fourth child in a family of nine children. She was raised on the family farm and attended Folkstone School. On November 1, 1942 Mary married William Wenc. Together they farmed in the Beckenham district where Mary continued to live after William’s passing until now. They raised four children: Joanne, Veronica, Raymond & Dennis. Mary was very active in the UCWLC in Beckenham, in which she was president for many years. Mary loved baking, cooking, sewing and gardening. Following a very brief illness, Mary passed away on Monday, February 28th 2022 at the Ituna Pioneer Health Care Centre. She was 99 years of age. Besides her husband William, Mary was predeceased by her daughters Joanne and Veronica; and by siblings Bill, John, Steve, Lawrence and Alex Karapita. Mary is survived by sons Raymond (Anita); and Dennis. Grandsons: Curtis, Jason, Lee, and granddaughter Katya; great grandsons: Karson, Tyler and Bennett. Also a sister Pearl (“Flaxie”), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and her many other relatives and friends. Service Details.
