Obituary of Diane Michalchuk

MICHALCHUK - Diane Rose Michalchuk was suddenly taken from us on Monday, June 27, 2011 at the age of 54. Diane was born in Theodore, SK to Nick and Marie (Bodnar) Michalchuk where she spent her childhood years until the age of 9 years. Following this her family moved to Parkerview then Saltcoats. Diane spent her high school year in Yorkton until graduation; thereafter moving to Regina, SK.; where she worked at a law firm. Later, Diane began working for the Regina Public School Board Purchasing and Facilities Branch as a Secretary where she met and began dating Jim Ell. Eventually they built a new home in Regina and became Life Partners. Diane was a caring and giving Life Partner, sister, sister - in - law, aunt, daughter and granddaughter. In her earlier years she took art classes. She loved fashion, clothing, jewellery and shoes. She was interested in interior decorating and design and liked trying new things. In her younger years she enjoyed the occasional hitchhiking trip and later began to do some travelling. Diane was hard working and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Diane was predeceased by: her father Nick Michalchuk, grandparents Fred and Ann Michalchuk and Harry and Irene Bodnar. Diane will be sadly missed by her Life Partner Jim Ell. Her mother Marie Michalchuk - Sies and her husband Art; brothers: Bill Michalchuk and his wife Sandee and their children: Kris and Brittany; Don Michalchuk, Rick Michalchuk, John Michalchuk and his wife Lisa and their children: Logan and Landon; sisters: Bev Woodward and her husband Bob and their children: Reg and Ryan; Maria Cumming and her husband Shaun and their children: Alyssa and Ethan as well as other relatives, co - workers and many good friends. A memorial service for Diane was held Friday, July 8, 2011, 2:00p.m. at Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Pastor Tony Yorgov officiating. The eulogy was also given by the Pastor. Amazing Grace was the hymn sang with Vange Shipowick as pianist. Sandee Michalchuk gave a tribute to Diane & David Ell read the scripture. Honorary bearers were her brothers, Don, Bill, Rick & John, brothers-in-law, Bob Woodward & Shawn Cumming, friends John Malcolm, Bob Pattison, Dennis Mus and Dale Riche, Urnbearers were her sisters, Bev Woodward and Maria Cumming.
