Obituary of Robert Molnar
MOLNAR - Robert Molnar, beloved husband of Janet Molnar of Melville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 24th, 2011 at St. Peter's Hospital with family at his side. He was eighty-one years of age. Robert was born April 19th, 1930 in the Yorkton Hospital to George and Helen (nee Bodie) Molnar of the McKim District. Robert received his education at West Otthon School. On October 19th, 1954, he married Janet Gulash at the Holy Trinity R.C. Church in Otthon, Saskatchewan. They farmed in the McKim District for six years then they moved to the Willowbrook District in 1960 and farmed there for 34 years. In 1994 they retired and moved to Melville. Robert was a member of the Knights of Columbus Father Pander Council 5201 Melville Branch, and was on the Willowbrook school board for eleven years, and on Sask. Wheat pool committee in McKim and president of the farmers union McKim lodge. Robert loved baseball, curling, fishing, and playing horse shoes. He also shared his time and talents as a carpenter with family and friends. He made many crafts for his children and grandchildren, sometimes calling it junk; but to us it was and is precious; things we will cherish forever. He was devoted to his wife, children, and grandchildren, and family gatherings were very important to him. Robert was predeceased by his parents George sr. and Helen, his inlaws, John and Julia Gulash, his brothers John (Mary), Henry (Lizzie), Joe (Goldie), George, Victor, Steve, Frank, Eddie, Albert (Nancy), Ernie (Marg), Ted, Nick, Willie, and sister Margaret in infancy and brother-in-law Emeric Chillog. He leaves to mourn his passing and celebrate his life, his wife, Janet, Son, Grant (Kara) Molnar, Daughters, Charlene (Carman) Bierwagen, Charmaine (Lorne) Dwernychuk, and Bernadine (Brent) Gibler, grandchildren, Stacey (Mike) Frederick, Garret Molnar, Tracey (Steve) Halladay, Amanda Gibler and fiancé Keith Isberg, Scott Gibler, Christofer Molnar, and Kathleen Molnar, step grandchildren, Tyler Dwernychuk (Meaghan), Robyn Dwernychuk (Curtis), step great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Isberg, Grayson and Sallisa Auger; Brother, Mike (Joyce) Molnar, and sister, Mary Chillog, Sister-in-law, Margaret, Anne, Betty, Agnes, Julia, Martha, Olga, and Anne Molnar; Gulash in-laws, Ed (Betty) Jack, Larry (Lynn) Violet (Donovan) Leona (Ed) and Irvin (Janet); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Prayer Vigil was held on Friday, May 27, 2011 at 8:00 p.m. from St. Henry's Roman Catholic Church in Melville with Rev. Fr. Antoni Degutis O.M.I. Presiding. Len Varga led in the singing of the hymns, "Peace Is Flowing Like A River", "Only God Can Make A Difference" and "Only A Shadow". Charlene Bierwagen gave the eulogy. The Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. from St. Henry's Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Antoni Degutis O.M.I. as the Celebrant. The Crossbearer was Darcy Molnar and Stacey Frederick and Kara Molnar did the readings and Karen Pacholko did the intercessions. Gift bearers were Charlene Bierwagen and Bernadine Gibler and Eucharistic Ministers were Allan Pacholka and Rosallie Woloschuk. Len Gadica and Len Varga led in the hymns, "Lord Jesus Of You I Will Sing", Psalm "Lord Is My Shepherd", "How Great Thou Art", "Quiet Me Lord" and "Just A Closer Walk With Thee". Solo "Now Know We Not The Meaning Of Life's Sorrow" by Len Varga. Members of the Knight of Columbus formed an honor guard. Honorary bearers were Karen and Allan Pacholko, Mavis and Norman Parachoniak, Dana Reid, Darcy and Risa Molnar. The interment followed in the St. Henry's parish Cemetery with grandchildren Stacey Frederick, Garret Molnar, Tracey Halladay, Amanda Gibler, Scott Gibler, Christofer Molnar and Kathleen Molnar as the casketbearers.
