Obituary of Andrew Hnatuk

HNATUK - Mr. Andy Hnatuk at the age of 86 passed away suddenly at home in the arms of his loving wife of 61 years. His sudden death occurred on May 16. A man of great ambition, he farmed and operated a Massey Harris dealership and Shell Oil Co. in Insinger for over 7 years. He then moved to the farm and continued farming. For 15 years he was the Reeve of the Municipality working diligently for the ratepayers. Andy was on the executive of St. Nicks Church as well as the Wheat Pool and in other fields. Talented, he was you name it - he was Mr. Fix It. Holiday travel was a must - he visited Hawaii, Expo 67 in Montreal, Arizona, and the West Coast. Health complications began with his heart attack in 2005, then progressed extensively until his untimely death. His parents George passed away in 1973 and his mother Elena in 1964 He'll be missed by his wife Violet, his daughter Colleen (Bill) of Calgary, son Dale (Gayle) of Yorkton. His grandchildren; Lynsey, Shondell (Craig), Daelyn (Chris); Five great grandchildren: Shelby, Mackenzee, Jaagger, Kaiden, and Tanner. Also a sister, Mary Raddysh of Theodore. Andy was predeceased by his brothers, Wally, John, Bill, Steve, and Nick. Prayers were held on Friday evening, May 21, 2011 and the Requiem Divine Liturgy on Saturday, May 22, 2011, all from St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Yorkton. Rev. Father Methodius Kushko C.Ss.R. was the celebrant. Cantors, Ed Pindus and Colette Karapeta led members of St. Mary's Parish Choir and the congregation in the responses. The crossberarer was Lynsay Hnatuk, and the epistle-reader was Angeline Sebulsky. The interment took place in the Garden of Gethsemane at the Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Michael, David and Randy Hnatuik, Conrad Raddysh, Augustine Moldowan and Bill Yesensky serving as the casketbearers.
