Obituary of Bryan Woloschuk

Bryan James Woloschuk, beloved only son of Walter and Margaret (nee Purves) and Melvin and Carol (nee Miller) Melnechenko, passed away at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon on March 19, 2011 at the age of 38. Bryan "Lungs" Woloschuk was born on April 6, 1972 at Yorkton, SK. He attended Fairview and Simpson Elementary schools and Yorkton Regional High School. He worked at Popowich Milling for a few years and Corona Motor Inn until his illness forced him to quit. When he was able to, Bryan enjoyed attending hockey games, fishing, boating, camping, snowmobiling, computers and tinkering with his truck. He's had season tickets for his favourite team, the Yorkton Terriers for 20 years. He especially loved to chat on his forums on the computer until all hours. He made many internet friends there. He joined the Prairie Harvest Church where he found wonderful friends and he enjoyed the Home Group fellowship. On March 17, 2010 he had a double lung transplant and hoped to begin to lead a normal life. Just recently he participated in the Timmy Snowarama. He had looked forward to that for weeks. Then a few days later he was admitted to the hospital and never came home. A viral infection got into his lungs and he just wasn't strong enough to fight it. Bryan leaves to cherish his memory and celebrate his life, his loving parents Walter Woloschuk and Carol Melnechenko; his grandmother, Lynn Miller; two sisters, Barbara (Darren) Schmidt and Brenda Woloschuk; his step brothers Curtis (Margo) Melnechenko, Kevin (Joanne) Melnechenko, Kevin Adie; his step sisters, Cindy (Aaron) Fisher and Rhonda (Steven) Schlosser; his aunt Marilyn (Randy) Clarke, his aunt Sharon (Stephen) Vella; his nieces Raeghan Schmidt and Amanda Woloschuk; his nephew Dylan Schmidt and many cousins, other relatives, extended family and friends. He was predeceased by two aunts, Martha Yaremko and Pauline Cochrane and two uncles, Louis and Steve Woloschuk. The funeral service was held on Friday, march 25, 2011 at 1:00p.m. at Prairie Harvest Christain Life Centre in Yorkton. Pastor Desmond Klingspon officiated with Krista "Clark" Brown giving a tribute and reading a poem written by Bryan. Sharon Vella read the scripture and reflections were given by Mike Sarafincian and Jeff Niebergall. The casket bearers were Jesse Vella, Nick Antony, Curtis Melnechenko, Neal Poersch, Shane Yasinski, Brent Clarke, Rodney Kowula and Jim Yaremko.
