Obituary of Harold Miller

MILLER - Harold Ernest Miller of Melville, SK passed away on February 20, 2011 at the age of 81 years. Harold was born on April 11, 1929 to parents Eleanora (Laura) and Valentine Miller. Harold will always be loved and dearly missed by his daughter Lindy (Melvin) Wozniak of Edmonton, son Harold Miller Jr. of Melville, daughter Christine Molnar of Lloydminster; and son Keith Miller of Winnipeg; grandchildren Brent Wozniak (Kristi) of Edmonton, Gerald Molnar (Gaylene) of Saskatoon, Craig Molnar (Jordan) of Calgary and Dawn Molnar-Smith (Mike) of Yorkton; great grandchildren Brendan, Abigail and Katelyn Wozniak, Brianna, Brett and Zack Molnar and Abigail, Sophie and Reed Smith; brothers Charles (Kathleen) of Melville, Archie (Marlene) of Melville and Rudy (Dorothy) of Surrey; sisters Alice Sparks of Richmond and Phyllis Sobotin (Roy) of Vancouver as well as many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his parents Laura and Valentine; granddaughter Tricia Wozniak; brothers George, Philip and Jack Miller; sisters Kay and Carol Silk and Elizabeth Wotherspoon. Harold was born and raised on the family farm in the Municipality of Cana. As a young boy he worked on the farm and forming a musical band with his brothers "Miller's" orchestra providing music for weddings, anniversaries and community dances throughout the Melville area. In 1948 Harold hired onto the CNR working in Winnipeg, The Pas, Gillam and Brandon. In 1954 as a qualified Locomotive Engineer he worked in Melville, Hudson Bay, Watrous and Rivers retiring as a passenger train Engineer from Via Rail in 1988. Harold enjoyed family, music, fishing and golfing. Throughout the years with his brothers he provided lively and entertaining music at family and community events. In retirement he enjoyed spending the winter months in Texas. Harold was a Noble member of the WA WA Shriners - Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada and as a Shriner actively supported the Masonic principles of brotherly love, relief and truth. The family wishes to thank the staff of St. Paul's Nursing Home and St. Peter's Hospital for their care.
