Obituary of Brent McDougall
Brent James McDougall - May 19, 1971 - Jan 22, 2011 Gone too soon….. it is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brent McDougall, beloved husband and friend of Kristy McPake. Now at peace after a courageous battle with cancer, Brent leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Kristy McPake and their children Chloe and Chace, his Mom and Dad, Mary (Borden) and Bert McDougall, mother in law, Joan McPake , his brother in law Jonathon McPake, father in law John McPake and Grandmother Christine McDougall and many other special friends and family. He is predeceased by his brother Don, Grandfather James McDougall , Grandparents Alice and Eli Borden and Uncle Kenneth Borden. Brent was born and raised in the Yorkton. Upon graduation from the Yorkton Regional high school Brent struck out into the world. After receiving his credentials as a Water Resource Technologist, Brent worked in, Yorkton, Melville, with his final workplace for the past 10 years, Sask Water. His career with SaskWater took him to Watrous, Regina and lastly Moose Jaw as Supervisor of Special Services. Brent never regretted his career choice as he enjoyed the opportunities the job created whether getting down and dirty fixing one of the many leaks to providing input on upcoming water treatment plants. The biggest asset of the job was the camaraderie with his colleagues. Brent often said his one greatest accomplishment in life was becoming a Dad. His children were the apple of his eye. He would spend hours playing childrens games, reading and listening to Chloe's stories…he was her best friend. As for Chace, Brent was content to hold, read and cuddle him. In the warmer months Brent was always eager to get home from work and hit the road to the cabin. Many spring and summer days were spent with his family and best bud Paul wasting the days away on the beach and spending the evenings relaxing by the fire or playing the dime game at Stacey and Paul's cabin. Brent was an honest, trustworthy man. Men this good are missed terribly when they leave us, but we can keep the memories we hold dearly alive in our hearts. We admire his fine qualities and are so proud that he was husband, father and friend. We can be sure that he will watch over us. The funeral service was held on Saturday, January 29, 2011 from the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre, Yorkton with Crystal Bailey officiating. Brent's cousin, Brian Russell gave the eulogy, and Brent's longtime friend Paul Herman was the urnbearer. If friends so desire, contributions may be directed to Allan Blair Cancer Clinic in Regina. Special thanks to Dr. Lawale an exceptional, caring physician, and the nursing and palliative care staff at the Yorkton hospital. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Baileys Funeral Home.
