KARDYNAL - Terri Kardynal (nee Niefer) beloved wife of Michael Kardynal of Yorkton passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2010 at St. Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon. Theresa Catherine Kardynal was born on May 6, 1970 in Yorkton; a daughter of Ruth Falkenberg and Gordon Niefer. Terri graduated from Yorkton Regional High School in 1988 and from SIAST (Moose Jaw) in 1990 with a Diploma in Accounting. At the time of her passing, Terri was employed by the Sunrise Health Region in Housekeeping, a job she loved as it kept her active. Terri was united in marriage to Michael Kardynal, the love of her life, on September 22, 2007. Although their time together as husband and wife was brief, they had known each other for over 20 years. Together they lived on an acreage by Dunleath, Saskatchewan for the past three years where they spent many hours renovating the property and enjoying the beauty of the outdoors and their animals. Terri enjoyed the view of her yard from the dining and living room windows, especially when the sun shone on the trees. Terri's main passions were her family, music and her animals/babies: Bree, Ashes, Myah, Levi, and Reba. Terri loved music and enjoyed singing and playing her guitar. Although Terri was a quiet and reserved person, she was in her element whenever she performed on stage or for privileged friends and family. Family was very important to Terri. Terri's mom, Ruth, was her best friend. They both spoke proudly of how they were not just mother and daughter, but that they were best friends. Terri and her father, Gordon, cared for each other greatly. In Terri's adult years they found enjoyment in many things such as their Saturday morning breakfasts and other shared time. Terri and her brother, Cory, developed an extraordinary bond in their youth that evolved into their adulthood where they remained strong confidantes, inseparable by distance or time. Terri's love for family extended to Michael's family as well. She had a special relationship with everyone, from Michael's parents to each of her nieces and nephews. Terri passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2010 at St. Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon, ending a year-long struggle with cancer. Terri is survived by her husband, Michael Kardynal; her mother Ruth Falkenberg (Saskatoon); her father Gordon Niefer (Yorkton); her brother Cory Niefer, his wife Shannon Hood-Niefer, and their daughter Milla Marie Niefer (Saskatoon); her extended family from Yorkton, father and mother-in-law Mike & Adeline Kardynal, brother-in-laws Larry Kardynal, his wife Angelina and their children Jagger & Willow, Danny Kardynal and his children Danielle and Tanner, and sister-in-law Patsy Kuspira, her husband Bryan and their children Ashley and her significant other, Kyle, and Katelyn & Heather. The funeral service was held on Thursday afternoon, December 30, 2010 from the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Rev. Richard Gibson officiating. Tributes to Terri were given by her brother Cory and by her sister-in-law Pat Kuspira. Her cousin Lisa read a poem. A video tribute created by her brother was also played. Terri's husband, Michael and her mother, Ruth served as the urn bearers.
