Obituary of Emma Hamilton
HAMILTON - Emma Hamilton of the Ituna Pioneer Lodge and formerly of Hubbard passed away with family at her side on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at St. Peter's Hospital in Melville. She was 87 years of age. Emma was born on November 15, 1923 on the family farm in the Fenwood district of Saskatchewan. A daughter to Joseph and Sarah (nee Potyok) Czinkota. She received her education at the Bernadine School in the Fenwood district. After receiving her education Emma remained home for a while. She then worked for Jonny's Dry Cleaning in Yorkton. On November 10, 1946 she was united in marriage to William Hamilton on her parent's farm. The couple purchased a farm south of Hubbard but resided with her parents over the winter. When spring came they built a home on the farm where they resided until September of 1986 and moved into Hubbard. On February 17, 1997 William passed away th and Emma resided in her own home until November 4 of this year and moved into the Pioneer Lodge in Ituna. Emma loved gardening, baking, growing flowers, sewing, embroidering, knitting, reading and doing search- wordbooks but most of all cooking, no one ever went away hungry. Her most pride and joy was having her children and grandchildren around. Predeceased by her parents, her husband William, two sons Larry and William, brother Joseph, sisters Sarah, Margaret, Elizabeth, Helen and five siblings in infancy. Emma leaves to cherish her memory her children, Jim (Donna) of Lac Du Bonnet, MB, and children Dean and Kevin; Richard of Hubbard Sk and children Bruce, Kelly and Laura (Bob); and Colleen (Greg) Jeroski and their son Aaron of Yorkton Sk sister Elsie Nahirney of Saskatoon; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. from the Lakeside United Church in Ituna with Rev. Brian Mee Officiating. Debbie Fhur gave the eulogy. Organist Judy Hershmiller led in the hymns "Amazing Grace", "How Great Thou Art" and "Old Rugged Cross". Honorary bearers were everyone who knew and loved Emma. The Interment followed in the Hubbard Village Cemetery with Bruce Hamilton, Kelly Hamilton, Aaron Jeroski, Robert Pollon, Colin Patterson and Gerald Czinkota as the casketbearers.
