Obituary of Quinton Melnyk

MELNYK - Quinton Andrew Peter Melnyk was born on December 4, 1975 at Winnipeg, Manitoba; a son of Betty (nee Gladson) and John Melnyk. Quinton attended the Dauphin Elementary School called Whitmore and attended Brandon Jr. High School. He then went through the Adult Education program through the Parkland College in Yorkton, where he also pursued a heavy equipment operator 's certificate. Quinton enjoyed most of all spending time with his two kids, watching hockey and football and playing video games with his son. Quinton passed away suddenly on December 17th, 2010 at his home in Yorkton. He was 35 years of age. Predeceased by his grandparents: Peter & Helen Melnyk, and Andrew & Lillian Gladson; his sister Ashley, and his uncle, Douglas Gladson. Quinton leaves to cherish his memory his children Shanelle and Colby Melnyk of Yorkton; his parents, John Melnyk of Russell, MB, and Betty Melnyk of Dauphin, MB; his sisters: Shauna Melnyk of Esterhazy, and Kristine Graham of Yorkton (and Lacy-Anne Mather); niece Cara Morrison, and nephew Alexander Todd, both of Yorkton. Cremation took place at Bailey's Yorkton Memorial Gardens Crematorium. A memorial service for Quinton was held on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 from the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Crystal Bailey officiating. Son Colby and daughter Shanelle were the candlelighters and also the urnbearers. Friends and family also gave tributes to Quinton . CD selections 'Far Away', 'Amazing Grace', and 'Over and Over' were played. The interment took place in the Harrowby Cemetery at Harrowby, Manitoba.
