Obituary of Albert Stoski
STOSKI - Mr. Albert Stoski of Yorkton, beloved husband of Anne passed away peacefully on December 8th, 2010 at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre. Al, as he was known to his friends was born on August 14, 1926, in Tarnopol, Saskatchewan, son of Joseph and Mary Stoski (nee Popiel). He received his education in a public school in Tarnopol, Saskatchewan. Al went into "Hotel" service, and was employed with the Bessborough Hotel in Saskatoon. There he met Anne and they married on July 12, 1950. They moved to Winnipeg in 1959. Al was employed with the Royal Alexandra Hotel. He worked in different departments for seventeen years. Later he was employed with the Marlborough Hotel, as catering manager, booking weddings, anniversaries, bar mitzvahs etc. They travelled to several parts of U.S.A. and across our beautiful country of Canada. They took an early retirement in 1988 and moved to Yorkton, SK. After moving they joined the Family Apostolic Worship Church. All busied himself with cutting grass, planting and watering the flowers at the church. He loved the outdoors. He also volunteered at S.P.C.A. as he loved dogs. He met many friends and enjoyed having coffee with them and reminiscing about their good old days. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers Zymont and Frank, and a sister in infancy. He is survived by his beloved wife Anne, his sister Jean Haidy of Melfort, SK, two sisters-in-law, Stella Stoski and Vicky Stoski of Wakaw, SK, as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral Service was held on Monday, December 13th at the Family Worship Centre in Yorkton with Pastor Gerald Wagner officiating. The scripture reading was given by Liz Krochak. The congregational hymns, "I Stand Amazed at Your Presence", "What A Day It Will Be When Jesus I Shall See", "Where The Roses Never Fade", "Just A Closer Walk With Thee", "Amazing Grace" were accompanied by Bill & Shirley Chornawka. Special Music was offered by Lorne & Grace Kopeck and a tribute was given by Lorne Kopeck. The interment followed in the Yorkton City Cemetery with Peter Wozney, Joe Soloninko, Nick Lushney, Dennis Elaschuk, Bill Chornawka and Lorne Kopeck serving as the casket bearers.
