Obituary of Charlene Kinaschuk
KINASCHUK - Mrs. Charlene Kinaschuk of Yorkton, beloved wife of Jamie passed away on December 7th, 2010. Charlene was born in Tisdale, SK on February 24th, 1972 to her parents, Paul and Jeannette Tremblay. She lived on a farm near Bjorkdale, SK where she attended Bjorkdale School until Grade 3. In 1981, she moved with her family to the Canora area, where she graduated high school in 1990. Charlene continued on to Minot, North Dakota where she attended Minot State University. She graduated in 1994 with her degree in Speech and Language Pathology. On June 5th, 1993, Charlene married Jamie (Jim) Kinaschuk, son of Agnes and Walter Kinaschuk. They moved to Dauphin, MB where she worked with special needs children at the school. The next year, they moved to Yorkton where she began her 15 year career with Christ The Teacher Catholic School division. Charlene and Jamie, started their family in 1997 with the arrival of Tanner, then Reese in 2000, and Kaden in 2007. Charlene had a passion for her family, friends and the simple things out of life. Charlene took a lot of pride in providing her husband and children with a loving home. In everything Charlene did, she always put others first and always had a positive outlook. Charlene loved her job with the Catholic School Division. She was very dedicated to her students and enjoyed seeing their progress. The staff appreciated her professionalism and her easy going personality. Charlene was diagnosed with cancer in July 2008. After a 2 ½ year struggle, Charlene smiled, closed her eyes and peacefully passed away. Although her battle was tough, Charlene fought for every extra day. Through her amazing strength and love, Charlene managed to give her husband, children and family many memories to cherish. Charlene leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 17 years, Jamie; their three children, Tanner, Reese and Kaden; her parents Paul and Jeannette Tremblay; her brother Mitch, his wife Melissa and their children Hayden, Sarrah and Meghan; her brother Scott, his wife Michelle and their children Emma and Tyson; Jamie's parents Walter and Agnes Kinaschuk; her sister-in- law Loretta, husband Greg and their children Kelsey and Jordyn; and Jamie's grandmother, Emily Kinaschuk; her many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her grandparents James and Annette Tremblay, and Lena and Noel Fafard; Uncle Joe and Aunt Shirley Fafard; cousin Lana Fraser. The Prayer Vigil was held on Friday, December 10th at St. Gerard's Roman Catholic Church in Yorkton. Pianist, Pam Yaremko led St. Gerard's Choir in the singing of the hymns, "Here I Am Lord", "Psalm 63", "Be Not Afraid" and "Prayer of St. Francis". The reading was given by Ray Sabraw. Reflections of Charlene's life were shared by brothers, Mitch and Scott. Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, December 11th at St. Gerard's Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Francis Hengen as the Celebrant. The cross bearer was Imelda Sabraw (Godmother/Aunt). Katherine Flaman, the pianist led the parish choir in the singing of the hymns, "You are Near", "Psalm 62", "Precious Lord, Take My Hand", "On Eagle's Wings", "Song of Farewell" and "Amazing Grace". Readings were given by Louise Jones (Aunt) and Barb Mackesey (friend/colleague). General intercessions were led by Jason Tremblay (cousin). The gifts were offered by Ed & Claire Fafard (Uncle & Aunt). An honour guard was held by members of the Catholic Women's League. The interment followed in the Garden of St. Luke at Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Brad Prokopowich (friend), Greg Woytkiewicz (brother-in-law), Jason Fafard (cousin), Terry Tremblay (cousin), Jason Cooper (friend) and Chris Tremblay (cousin) serving as the casket bearers. Memorials in memory of Charlene may be made to the Kinaschuk Children Trust Fund and forwarded to 45, 5th. Ave. N. Yorkton, SK S3N 0Y9.
