Obituary of Rose Morash
MORASH - Rose Morash was born June 21, 1921 on the family farm in the Calder district of Saskatchewan. She was the eighth child born to John and Yvonne (nee Rubuletz) Bewcyk. She passed away peacefully December 2nd, 2010 in the Yorkton & District Nursing Home. She grew up on the family farm near Calder, Saskatchewan and attended Verboska School till the age of fifteen. She helped on the family farm until she was married to Bill Morash of Calder on January 10, 1943. They moved to Thunder Bay where Bill worked as a welder for the Canadian Car Company and Rose worked as a cook in a lumber camp until Bill retired. She loved nothing more than to come back home to visit with all of her siblings. They moved back to Yorkton in 1969 where Rose was hired to cook at the Woolworth`s Cafeteria. Prior to retiring she worked at the Yorkton Regional High School Cafeteria. She was predeceased by her parents, brothers Pete, Bill & Nick Bewcyk; sisters Dora Horaska, Katie Eftoda, Margaret Hnatiuk & Mary Onaferson. Also two nephews, Matt Horaska and George Hnatiuk; and two nieces, Kay Burnell and Hazel Moffat. She will be missed by her two sisters, Lena Swerhun of Yorkton and Elsie Kryworuchka of MacNutt, Sask and by numerous nephews and nieces. The funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 from the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Rev. Ken Buchan officiating. Organist, Amanda Buhler led the congregation in the singing of the hymns 'Abide With Me', 'What A Friend We Have in Jesus', and 'How Great Thou Art'. The interment took place in the Garden of St. Mark with Brad & Brent Danylko, Jerry Kryworuchka, Ivan Morash, and Peter & Jim Eftoda serving as the casketbearers.
