Obituary of Nick Osicki

OSICKI – Nick Osicki of St. Paul Lutheran Home in Melville husband of the late Mona Osicki entered his eternal rest on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at the age of 92 years. Nick was born on February 25, 1918 in the Brewer district of Saskatchewan, a son to Joseph and Mary (nee Dobko) Osicki. Nick received his education at Pulaski Plains School. On October 12, 1940 Nick was united in marriage to Mona Novakowski at St. Cunegunda Church in Otthon. The couple farmed in the Brewer area until 1952 then moved into Melville. Nick worked at various jobs retiring in 1983. He was an avid Melville Millionaire’s fan both in hockey and baseball. Nick coached the Melville Midget Millionaires hockey team to the Provincial Championship in 1960-61. Nick was th actively involved with the Knights of Columbus serving as Grand Knight and involved with the 4 Degree. As a Knight he worked on all levels of volunteering and sporting events. In 2001 Mona passed away and Nick continued to reside in his home until February 24, 2006 and moved into Westview Manor. On December 30, 2006 he became a resident at St. Paul Lutheran Home. Predeceased by his parents, his wife Mona, sisters Katherine Taschuk, Pearl Burant, Julia Chipeur, Anne Woloschuk, Helen Novakowski and Victoria Burant; brothers John and Frank; daughter-in-law Dale Osicki; Nick leaves to cherish his memory his children Dorothy (Stan) Fleming of Nanoose Bay, B.C. and their children Audrey Fleming and her children Edward, Benjamin and Emily. Kevin (Trish) Fleming children Sarah, Brandon, Dylan. Jack (Christine) Fleming son Braden. Marie (Frank) Ludwar of Regina, Sask. son Troy children Ryan, Shane, Noah, Alexys David (Brenda) Osicki of Melville, Sask. and their children Michelle (Randy) Molyneaux children Steven, Adam, Nicole. Crystal (Sheldon) Pryhitka children Brendan, Tyler. Donald (Grace) Osicki of White City, Sask. and his children Ryan (Ashley) Osicki son Leo. Tenille Laursen. Debbie (Jim) Shaw of Melville, Sask. and their children Stephanie (Ian) Aastrom Stacy (John) McCuaig son Jack. Christine Shaw, Curtis Shaw. Suzanne (Perry) Binkley of Emerald Park, Sask. and their children Reilly Cowan, Kristy, Sarah, Amy, Ashley. One sister Valeria Woloschuk of Yorkton, Sask. The Osicki family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and caregivers at St. Peters Hospital and St. Paul’s Lutheran Home for all the wonderful care Dad received.
