Obituary of Nick Fedun
FEDUN - Nick Fedun was born on November 16, 1930 in the Whitesand district of Saskatchewan; a son of Peter and Pearl (nee Kutcher) Fedun. He was raised on the family farm and attended the Whitesand School until a childhood illness forced him to stay home. Nick loved the farm and working with the animals. In 1956 he moved into Yorkton with his parents. He greatly enjoyed the company of family and friends, he enjoyed a good game of cards and watching movies. As Nick's health declined, he became a resident of the Yorkton and District Nursing Home, where he had resided for the past eighteen years. Nick passed away on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at the Nursing Home. He was 79 years of age. Predeceased by his parents, Peter and Pearl, a sister Rose, and by a brother Mervin, he leaves to mourn his passing his sisters: Mary Fedun of Yorkton; Adeline (Paul) Martinek of Kelowna; and Julie (Clarence) Watson of Lethbridge. Also one brother, Ervin (Dana) Fedun of Calgary, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The Requiem Divine Liturgy was celebrated on Saturday, November 6, 2010 from St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Yorkton with Rev. Father Raymond Lukie C.Ss.R. officiating. Cantor, Ed Pindus, assisted by members of St. Mary's Parish Choir led in the singing of the responses. The crossbearer was Terry Friesen. The interment took place in the Yorkton City Cemetery with Anthony, Dustin and Perry Fedun, Greg and Clarence Watson and Peter Kutcher serving as the casketbearers. Arrangements were in care of Bailey's Funeral Home. Service Information
