Obituary of Marion Fleming

FLEMING - Mrs. Marion Fleming wife of the late Thomas Fleming of Theodore, formerly of Invermay and the Leross district passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2010 at St. Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon. Marion Agnes Theresa Fleming was born on August 27, 1928 in the Rockglen district of Saskatchewan. A daughter of Joseph and Amelia (nee Kupper) Braun. On October 30th, 1950 Marion was united in marriage to Thomas Fleming. The couple raised their family of three children and operated a family farm in the Leross district until 1999. In addition to farming the family also managed the Co-op store. Through the years Marion helped on the farm, worked in the store and later worked in the bar and dining room in the Leross Motel. She enjoyed gardening, growing flowers and crocheting and knitting in her quieter time. She was always energetic and very active in her community of Leross, volunteering with many organizations and committees. Marion later participated in various seniors activities including shuffleboard and bingo. Marion was a very friendly, likeable person. She always made time to visit with family and friends. She had a wonderful sense of humour and a positive attitude that remained with her right up until her passing on Thursday, October 14, 2010 at St. Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon. Predeceased by her beloved husband Thomas; her parents Joseph and Amelia and one sister, Alice in infancy. Marion leaves to cherish her memory her three children and their families: daughter, Evelyn (Allan) Englund of Regina, daughter, Darlene Fleming of Saskatoon, and son Kenneth (Darlene) Fleming of Theodore; seven grandchildren Lee, Laura, Adam, Lindsay, Morgan, Jaylene and Shalon; fourteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brother, Don (Mimi) Braun of Bonneville, AB; two sisters, Florence Fleming (Tiny Berthelot) of Cutknife, SK and Diana Komodowski of Leross and numerous other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Marion's Life was held on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 from the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Crystal Bailey as the officiant. Special taped musical selections were There You'll Be, Church In the Wildwood and I Will Remember You. A tribute and words of remembrance were given by nephew, Loren Komodowski. Poems were read by grandchildren, Lindsay, Adam and Morgan Rithaller and Shalon Fleming. Grandson, Lee Englund served as the urnbearer. Interment followed in the family plot at the Lestock Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Bailey's Funeral Home. Service Information
