Obituary of Mike Kuschak

KUSCHAK - On Thursday, September 2, 2010 Mike Kuschak of Yorkton and formerly of Ituna, passed away peacefully at Yorkton Regional Health Centre. Mike, son of Alex Kuschak and Polly Harrisem was born on October 28, 1922. He received his education at Hard Rock School. On July 16, 1950 Mike was united in marriage to Dora Shymko. Mike and Dora raised their family of five children on a farm nine miles northeast of Ituna. Mike and Dora were proud grain and cattle farmers until their semi-retirement in 1995 when he and Dora moved to Yorkton. He continued his weekly travels to help his sons. While farming he also drove school bus and really enjoyed driving the football team, "The Ituna Trojans" to all their games. After Dora's passing Mike took great pride in gardening always yielding bountiful crops of vegetables. Mike was actively involved in the Yorkton Bowling League, making new friends every season. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus both in Ituna and Yorkton. Mike also attended Terrier hockey games always holding a season ticket. Mike spent many late nights playing cards with his friends. Mike liked to "fiddle" around, seriously, he loved music thoroughly and enjoyed playing his violin. Mike's mischievous smile and raise of that eyebrow always made everyone know he was very happy. Mike was predeceased by his wife Dora in 2007 and is survived by a sister Eva Koski who resides in Winnipeg at a beautiful age of 94. He leaves to mourn his children Lorraine (David) Manovich of Yorkton, Ken (Bernadette) Kuschak of Ituna, John (Bernice) Kuschak of Saskatchewan Beach. Leonard (Barb) Kuschak of Ituna, and Brenda (Richard) Zenkewich of Pilot Butte. He also leaves sixteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, with two more on the way. Mike's family was so important to him. They can find comfort in knowing he truly cherished each and every one of them and the beautiful families they created. We smile knowing he is reunited with his beloved Dora. Mike ‘Gido' Papa ,will be sadly missed.
