Obituary of Adam Hanowski
HANOWSKI - Adam Jacob Hanowski, beloved husband of Matilda (Kopetzki). Adam was born on the family farm, 9 miles SE of Melville in the Killaly District, on January 6, 1918 to Sebastian and Theresa (nee Dietrich) Hanowski. On July 4, 1960, Adam was united in marriage to Matilda Kopetzki at St. Mary's RC Church in Grayson. Their marriage was blessed with 5 children, 2 sons and 3 daughters. Adam loved the outdoors and nature. He enjoyed going for long walks in the country where he would pick a bouquet of wildflowers for Matilda. He loved listening to the birds singing, his favourite being the meadowlark. Adam had a great love for his children, grandchildren and great grandchilden. He enjoyed playing with them and would sing them songs when they were little. He liked to take his grandchildren into the garden for fresh peas and raspberries. Adam was predeceased by his parents Sebastian and Theresa, sisters Frances (Karl) Riess, Margaret (John) Appel, Anne (Joseph) Rusitch, Lena (Lorenz) Young, brothers Sebastian (Eva) Hanowski, William (Anne) Hanowski and Sigmund Hanowski. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 50 years Matilda, sons Harvey and Alvin Hanowski, daughters Theresa Hanowski (Gary Ward), Gladys (Royce) Weslowski, Glenda (Blaine) Simpson, grandchildren: Amanda Ward (Curtis Smith) and great grandchildren Deeghan and Dantaye, Amber Ward (Steven Osiowy) and great grandchild Evan, Kristy and Chelsea Weslowski, Kurtis and Kayla Simpson.Brother Edward (Magdeline) Hanowski and sister Eva (Thomas) Matyas and sister-in- law Lorraine Hanowski, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
