Obituary of Alfred Hoedel

Alfred Hoedel was born on July 10, 1933 in Grayson, to Adam and Julia (nee Zimmer) Hoedel. He was raised on and later took over the family farm, which became his life long career. He married Rosemarie Appel on October 16, 1956 and they were blessed with 4 children. Alfred was an avid hunter, trapper, and fisherman, no matter the season. He loved camping and spent many summers at Crooked Lake enjoying fishing and boating with his grandchildren. He never let his physical challenges stop him from driving a tractor or truck, water skiing or even riding a bike. His determination and strength was an inspiration to all who knew him. Alfred entered his eternal rest on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at St. Peter’s Hospital at the age of 88 years. He is predeceased by his parents, Adam and Julia Hoedel; in-laws, George and Mary Appel; sister Matilda in infancy; son-in-law Barry Guenther; brothers-in-law, Eddie Appel, Darvin Appel and Walter Baumgartner. Alfred leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 65 years Rosemarie; children, Judy (Ken) Beres; Wendy (Kelvin) Bogdan; Cheryl (John) Womack; Brent (Nancy) Hoedel; 9 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brothers Ernie Hoedel and Ray (Terry) Hoedel; numerous brother/sister in laws; nephews, nieces, and all those who knew and loved Alfred.
