The interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Spy Hill. How do we sum up a lifetime of memories and accomplishments in a short few paragraphs? Our beloved father, Maurice Pritchard, age 94, went to be with Jesus on Sunday February 13, 2022. Dad was born to his mother, Rosalie Pritchard (Hayden) and Jack Ambrose Pritchard on August 18, 1927, in Spy Hill Saskatchewan. He was born into a world that was in a state of economic depression. His parents made the best of it, survived, prospered, gave their family lots of love and great work ethic. Dad was a hard worker and excelled in everything he put his mind too. He married our mother, Amelia Pritchard on August 12, 1950, at Welby Saskatchewan. The two began an adventurous life together. They were a great team. Mom cared for the home and children plus worked by Dad’s side in every endeavour he took. Our parents were very brave. Dad did every job possible to take care of his family. He farmed and worked for other farmers in the area for many years. He would go where the work was. In the middle of the 1950s dad packed up his family and left for Yellowknife NWT, where he worked on a dairy farm with mom by his side for a few years and worked underground in a Gold Mine. Both drove semies. They stayed for several years and returned home with 4 children and one on the way. For the next 30 years Dad worked at various jobs. He worked at the Metis Farm in the 70s, CN yard in Alberta and another dairy farm. He also did construction for many years. The simplest pleasures brought Dad great joy. His horses Rex and Prince brightened his day. His dog Ryder was his constant companion. He enjoyed family time with quadding, ski doing, camping, playing La Barouche, watching western movies, going through abandoned houses, taking long drives in the country, and he loved sitting by a campfire telling us stories of his life. Dad had a great sense of humor. Mom and Dad were married 58 years and had 14 children. Dad leaves behind his children Mervin (Carol), Ambrose (Crystal), Raymond (Crystal), Betty Ann Friday, Jeanie Homeniuk, Kenny, Ronnie, Patsy (Scott) Carruthers, Brenda (Robert) Heidt, Beverly Pritchard, and Dean (Naomi). He had many grand children, and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Our mother, Amelia Pritchard and our brothers, Alphy, Roy and Bernard left this world before Dad. Dad had a long life. He loved his family and the Lord. He will be sadly missed. He is with Jesus, Mom, his children, his parents, his family. We love you Dad. Service Details.
