Mrs. Mary Dziaduck, aged 94, formerly of Buchanan district and Yorkton, died peacefully in Pioneer final years of her life in the Alzheimer's Wing at Pioneer Village and was shown the kindness and care she had given to others in her younger years. She is survived by her daughters Iris of Ladysmith BC (daughters Chantelle and Amber), Stella of Surrey BC (husband Eugene Slowski, daughter Tiffany and granddaughter Tess) and Frances of Craven SK (husband Allan Hackman, son Justin and daughter Taylor). Frances and Allan made a commitment to remain in Saskatchewan near Mary and to care for her until her last moments. Mary was born on March 3rd, 1916, the youngest daughter among 9 siblings. She attended elementary school in the Dobronowetz district and then helped on the family farm. During the war she left for Fort Frances ON to help in her brother Bill's store. Never one to shirk hard work, Mary worked alongside her husband, who always considered her the light of his life. In addition to farm chores, she was a self-taught seamstress, an avid gardener and excellent cook. She is remembered by her family for her generosity, determination, boundless energy and common sense. Prayers were held on Sunday, May 16th at Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Very Rev. Peter Pidskalny, C.Ss.R. officiating. Reflections of Mary's life and tributes were conveyed by Allan Hackman and Iris Dzioduck.
