Obituary of Lillian Carroll

CAROLL - Lillian Carroll of St. Paul Lutheran Home in Melville, formerly of Yorkton passed away peacefully to be with her Lord on April 29, 2010 at St. Peter's Hospital. Lillian Rosalie Coleman was born March 26, 1941 in Stonewall, Manitoba to Allen and Elsie Coleman (nee Liebrecht). Lillian's beginning years were spent in Winnipeg as her dad was being trained for the air force during the WWII. Following the war years, her parents purchased a farm in 1947 near Rhein, SK where Lillian and her sisters, Marlene and Sharon, were raised. Lillian attended Clyde, a small country school for six years. Lillian moved to Yorkton to live with her mother and Willie (Fookes - stepfather), where her daughter AnnaMarie was born April 30, 1971. For thirty years Lillian worked as a chambermaid at the Corona Motel. For many years right up until the time she left us, Lillian had a deep relationship with the Lord that sustained her through many difficulties she experienced in life. She especially enjoyed attending church and anything relating to church life. Due to illness that physically limited her, her last years were spent at St. Paul Lutheran Home in Melville where she was able to enjoy AnnaMarie, her granddaughters Danielle, Megan, Caitlin, son-in-law Gary, her weekly phone calls from Marlene, visiting family, friends and her many new friends made at the Home and the Melville Baptist Church. Predeceased by her father, Allen Coleman in 1958, and her mother, Elsie Fookes in 1983. She will be missed by her daughter and son-in-law, AnnaMarie and Gary Mann of Melville, and their three daughters Danielle, Megan, and Caitlin; sisters Sharon Coleman of Yorkton, Marlene Mayoh (Bill) of Fernie, BC, nephew Greg and nieces, Shannon Ryley of Cranbrook, BC and Tanya Utenda of Calgary, AB; and other special relatives, cousins, and friends.
