Obituary of Grant Muir

It is with great sadness that the family of David ‘Grant' Leslie Muir (November 13, 1962- April 25, 2010) announces his passing at his home in Pigeon Lake, AB as a result of complications to diabetes at 47 years of age. Grant was born and raised in Yorkton and attended Simpson School and Yorkdale Junior High. As a young man, Grant worked on the family farm and later became involved in the tire industry. Grant worked for various tire shops in Yorkton and Saskatoon and later in Thorsby, AB. He eventually went into business for himself, developing a mobile industrial tire service in central Alberta. Grant was gifted with a gentle kindness and loved horses and dogs. He rode "like the wind". One of his favourite activities was the sport of rodeo and he participated in many amateur bulldogging events. He earned a few silver buckles and more bruises as a reward for his endeavours. He also had a passion for dogs and he and his partner, Beth, had a pack of them. Grant's favourites were a little Pomeranian named "Misty" who was completely devoted to him and a one-eyed, three legged, German Shepherd "Julie", he adopted from his sister. On the dance floor, Grant didn't need to take a back seat to any seasoned professional. He could Texas Two- Step better then most Texans and Jive as well as though he was appearing on Dancing WithThe Stars! It was the highlight of many a "Burn's Night" for his sisters to fill his dance card, rarely giving him the opportunity of sitting out even one dance. Grant leaves to mourn his passing, his only daughter, Raelyn Muir of Asquith, SK; her mother Patti; his parents, Leslie and Joyce Muir of Yorkton; his sisters, Carol LaPaire of Springside and Bonnie- Jean Muir of Yorkton; his nephew and niece David Muir and Erin Clifford, both of Yorkton; and his partner and dearest friend, Beth Jones of Pigeon Lake, AB. My father, my son, my brother, my uncle and my friend; we pray that you are now at peace and that God holds you in the palm of his hand.
