Obituary of Anna Brunner

Anna Brunner was born on April 4, 1911 on the family farm in the Ituna District of Sask; a daughter of Wasyl and Katherine (nee Yunzeva) Leontowich. She was raised in the Ituna District and attended Beaverside School. She helped her parents of the family farm and was employed as a homemaker at various surrounding farms until her marriage to Joseph Peter Brunner in 1936. They resided at Booth Siding and moved to Regina in 1939 where Joseph was employed by Massey Harris and Anna worked at the Furriers:My Wardrobe and Steen and Wright. Following the death of her husband Joseph in 1962 Anna continued to live in Regina eventually moving to Ituna in 1986. Here, she made her home, and eventually the Ituna and District Pioneer lodge became her place of residence. She passed away there on April 17, 2010 at the age of 99 years. During her life, Anna was involved with the Ituna Hospital Auxillary, the U.C.W. and Local Senior's groups. As well, she enjoyed crocheting, knitting and gardening in particular, flowers.She leaves to cherish her memory her brothers: Alex (Adelle), Fred (Sophie); sister and brother - in - law Lena and Harold Brandt and a brother - in - law Steve Brunner, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; husband Joe; brothers: Steve (Helen) Leonard, Harry and his wife Rose; sisters and their husbands: Lily (Jack) Lozinski, Mary (Mike ) Lewko, Carol (Howard)Cross. YOU WERE ALWAYS THERE There were times when we needed someone to bolster our spirits encourage our dreams, give us a gentle push in the right direction…. and you were there for us.
