Obituary of Henry Dolney

HENRY ANDREW "Hank" DOLNEY November 10, 1916 - April 8, 2010 Hank passed away peacefully at the Langenburg Centennial Care Home in Langenburg, Saskatchewan. He is survived by his son, Douglas James Dolney (Priscilla), two granddaughters, Shannon Dawn Perla (Trevor) and Shauna Marie Taylor (Jeremy) all of Tifton, Georgia, USA; sister, Rosalie Dolney of Regina and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 68 years, Sheila Duncan McDonald Dolney; his parents, Mary and Martin; sisters, Helen, Lucy, Angeline, Tilly, Mary; brothers, Clarence, Bruce, Walter and Valentine. Hank was born in Otthon, Saskatchewan. He received his schooling in Yorkton. He was in the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II in Yellow Knife. He retired from International Harvestor where he was a partsman. He served on the Langenburg School Board, was a lifelong member of the Langenburg branch of the Canadian Legion and member of the United Church of Canada. He enjoyed building bird houses, recording all weather temperatures daily for years, helping local farmers with harvesting and an avid sports fan. He and Sheila enjoyed traveling to visit their family in Georgia and Scotland. Hank's soft spoken words will always be remembered. He would "Chew-the-fat" as he would say with anyone and never met a stranger that he didn't like. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 14, 2010 at 2:00pm from the Langenburg United Church in Langenburg. Mr. Thom Carnahan will officiate. The interment will take place at the Yorkton Memorial Gardens. Memorials to the Church Memorial Fund would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Bailey's Funeral Home.
