Obituary of Stella Stachyshyn

STACHYSHYN - Mrs. Stella Stachyshyn entered eternal rest on April 2, 2010 at the age of 74 years at St. Peter's Hospital in Melville after a lengthy battle with heart disease. Stella was born on March 6, 1936 in the Ituna district of Saskatchewan; the youngest child of John and Pauline (nee Halushka) Lutz. Stella grew up on the family farm and attended school in the Hardrock District. She worked on the family farm and held various other jobs. On July 10, 1965 Stella was united in marriage to John Stachyshyn at the Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church in Ituna. She was an active member of her church, UCWLC and choir. Stella lived life to the fullest and had a special place in everyone's heart. She especially loved her nieces and nephews dearly. Her biggest enjoyment in life was making crafts. She leaves to cherish her memory and celebrate her life her loving husband John; sisters - in - law, brothers - in - law and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by: her father John in 1990, her mother Pauline in 1991, a brother and sister in infancy, her brother Emil in 2006 her sister Helen in 2006, her sister Annie in 2007 and nephews: Michael, Billy and Larry. Stella will be missed by all who knew her. Her memory will live on forever in our hearts. Prayers were held on Thursday, April 8th at Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church, Ituna. The Holy Rosary led by members of UCWLC preceded the prayers. Requiem Divine Liturgy was celebrated on Friday, April 9th at Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church with Very Rev. Boris Kyba, C.Ss.R. as the Celebrant. The crossbearer was Colleen Flinta and the epistle reader was Bev Lutz. All of Stella's family and friends that shared in her life were considered honourary pallbearers. UCWL member Jane Chorney served in an honour guard. The interment followed in Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery with Ron Volk, Dennis Serelo, Ernie Lutz, Tanner Lutz, Brent Kutas and Alec Stachyshyn serving as the casket bearers. Xpuctoc Bockpec!
