Prince - Garnet Philip Prince, beloved husband of Anne Maria Prince of Insinger, formerly of Wawota and Churchbridge, passed away October 30,2009, at the age of 58. Garnet was born November 10, 1950 to Rose & Philip Prince in Langenburg, Sask. Garnet attended Liscard Country School and then school in Churchbridge until Grade 12. Garnet worked as a drywaller for many years, he then returned to Chuchbridge and later on to Insinger to farm. He continued to work at his trade as well. After he retired from both of these occupations, he ventured into the construction industry, from building grain terminals where he specialized in hydraulic installation and trouble shooting, to the construction of the hog barn at Theodore, to helping his children with small jobs in their homes. He loved working for Big "D" and Stumpy at Bridgeway Farms, driving vac truck for Cimarron and Jay and doing numerous home remodelling jobs for people at Wawota. He enjoyed nothing more than visiting with the neighbours, having a drink and playing cards. He especially loved playing poker and we, are at this time, temporary guardians of the poker pot. Garnet and I spent many hours driving across Canada and the US, the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean and all places in between. We fell in love with Newfoundland and went back again last year. We just returned from exploring the Oregon coast and visiting family on our way back. This past summer Garnet and I were managers of the Whitesand Regional Park. Garnet, became very passionate about the park and the people there. He was looking forward to helping construct the new well house but he didn't get the opportunity to do this. His children and his grandchildren meant the world to him, he loved to cuddle babies. Garnet was predeceased by his mother and father, Phillip and Rose Prince, a sister Phyllis Rosin, brothers-in-law Reinhold Rosin, Bill Birnie and nephew, Colin Rosin. Garnet leaves to mourn his wife Anne Maria Prince, (nee Nielsen) of Insinger, son Cimarron(Jennifer) of Wawota, daughter, Dassa(Denis) Lenouail of Wawota. Grandchildren, Brock, Braida, and Hailey Anna. Brothers Leland (Carol) of Churchbridge, Wayne of Canora, and sister Leona (Reg) Ealey of Redcliff, AB. Funeral service was held Thursday November 5, 2009 at 11:00a.m. from Trinity Lutheran Church, Churchbridge. In lieu of flowers, donations to Pallitive Care, Pasqua Hospital would be appreciated, as well as in lieu of "Thankyou" cards, Cimarron, Dassa and Anne will buy a cot for 5A of the Regina General Hospital.
