Obituary of Michael John Kerelchuk
KERELCHUK - Michael Kerelchuk, beloved son of David & Pat Kerelchuk of Theodore died tragically in the early evening of December 30, 2008 as a result of a car accident. He was 26 years of age. Michael John Kerelchuk was born on September 18, 1982 to Pat and Dave Kerelchuk. He grew up on the family farm near Theodore where his adventurous and fun-loving spirit was evident early in his years. He attended Theodore School and graduated in 2000 from Yorkton Regional High School. After graduation, he continued with his education and attained his journeyman electrician designation through SIAST. He worked in Saskatchewan and Alberta doing both electrical work and as a derrick hand on a drilling rig. Mike's loyalty to his family stole him away from work every spring and fall to assist on the family farm. Mike worked hard, but he played even harder. He had a fervent passion for anything with a motor, and had accumulated a number of fast toys - one being his beautiful orange Mustang. Mike also enjoyed travelling. In 2007, he spent nearly two months in Hawaii, backpacking and surfing the North Shore. His recent plans were to travel and work in Australia in 2009. Michael's final day was spent snowboarding at Lake Louise. He will be forever remembered for his mischievous smile, his bright eyes and his giving and loving character. Michael was predeceased by his grandfathers, Max Lazeski and John Kerelchuk. He leaves to mourn his passing and to cherish his memory, his parents, David and Pat Kerelchuk; his sisters, Tracy (Brian) Mack and Tara Kerelchuk (Steve); his grandmothers, Nettie Kerelchuk and Angeline Lazeski; aunts, uncles and cousins, Martin and Pat Kerelchuk and their children Keri (Paul), Colin, and Kim; Delores and Ron Shordee and their children Janice (Bray), Ryan (Dakota), Darren and Lisa; Glen and Dianne Lazeski and their children Megan (Roley), Nicole and Brandon; Karen and Mark Woitas and their children Jeffrey and Stephanie; Leann and Todd Willen and their children Christopher and Tori, as well as many, many friends. The Funeral Service was held on Saturday, January 3rd at Westview United Church, Yorkton with Faye L. Greer officiating. The organist, Marilyn Newell led members of the Church Choir in the singing of the hymn, "In The Bulb There is A Flower". Taped Selections, "Angels Among Us" and "Free Bird" were part of the service.
