Obituary of Dorothy Kozoswyst

KOZOSWYST - Dorothy Grace "Dot" Kozoswyst widow of Mike Kozoswyst of Rhein and formerly of Verigin passed away peacefully in the Yorkton Regional Health Centre on February 22nd 2008 at the age of eighty years. Dot was born on December 30th 1927 in Brampton, Ontario to Frank and Hazel (nee Schnell) Foster. She was one of eleven children. Dot went to school in Brampton until grade eight and then went to work in a shoe factory. She later met Mike Kozoswyst and they were married in 1947. The couple moved to the Verigin district in Saskatchewan for six months and then to Canora where Dot worked as a Nurses Aid. They later moved to Calgary before they finally settled in Verigin and Dot became a full time mother. Dot stayed in Verigin for thirty years and in 1979 moved to Rhein where she resided until her passing.| Dot enjoyed people and bingo and having coffee with her friends, she liked to read and to watch birds and to sit in the sun. Most of all Dot enjoyed being with her family. Predeceased by her parents Frank and Hazel; her husband, Mike in 1973; her brothers, Bob, Bill, and Keith; one sister Toni. Dot is survived her children, Linda (Ken) Scrannage of Riely, AB, Darlene (Garry) Liebrecht of Yorkton, Bob of Rhein, Terry (Patti) of Norquay, and Patsy (Micheal) Letwiniuk of Hyas. Eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; her brothers, Allen, Jim and Dave; her sisters, Marge, Florence and Audrey as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A Family Funeral Service was held on Monday, February 25, 2008 from the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Pastor Daphne Bender of Christ Lutheran Church officiating. The organist, Amanda Buhler led the congregation in the singing of the hymns "Amazing Grace", "How Great Thou Art" and "The Old Rugged Cross". Interment will follow at a later date in the Kamsack Town Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Bailey's Funeral Home.
