Obituary of Metro Babchyshyn

Metro Babchyshyn was born on November 3, 1905 in the Calder district of Saskatchewan; the eldest son of Hilko and Lena (nee Andronik) Babcyhshyn. Metro attended Gartmore School and worked on the family farm until May of 2003, when he moved to Yorkton and became a resident of the Aspen Bluffs Villa. Metro loved the outdoors and open spaces. He enjoyed a healthy farmer 's life, observing nature and God's creations. He looked forward to the Bible's promise of life on a paradise earth where old age and sickness will not rob us of our happiness and joy in loving. Metro passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre. He was 101 years, 11 months and 27 days of age. He is survived by a sister: Mary Babchyshyn of Yorkton; brothers: Thomas (Verna) Bayne of Roblin, Manitoba; and Andrew (Diane) Bayne of Windsor, Ontario; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
