Obituary of Buddig Bradshaw

BRADSHAW - Buddig Bradshaw was born on February 2, 1912 at Bangor, Saskatchewan; a daughter of Gomer and Elizabeth Jones. Buddig attended school in Bangor for a couple of years before moving north of Bangor, where she attended Llewellyn School to Grade 10. Buddig completed her high school education in Saskatoon at Bedford Road Collegiate while living with her older sister Ceinwen. She then began teachers training at the Saskatoon Normal School (Teachers College). After graduation she moved back to the farm and began teaching at Llewellyn School, and then at Aston School. On January 5, 1939 she was united in marriage to Bill Bradshaw in Saskatoon. Bill and Buddig farmed in the Saltcoats district and Buddig taught at Aston, Boakview and Peachview Schools. In 1960 they retired from farming and teaching and moved to Yorkton where Bill opened a sign painting shop. She became an active member of the Yorkton Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Buddig was a very gentle, caring person, who always concerned herself with others. She enjoyed her home, garden, spending time with family and friends and especially her grandchildren. She was also an avid reader and did so until the end of her life. Following the death of Bill in September of 1999, Buddig maintained her independence for a few years until her health began to decline, at which time she became a resident of the Yorkton and District Nursing Home for about one and a half years, and at the time of her passing on May 31st had been a resident of the Dauphin Personal Care Home. Besides her husband, Buddig was predeceased by her parents Gomer and Elizabeth Jones; brothers Bill, Ben and Elvid Jones; sisters Eirwen Houle, Ceinwen Williams, and Lynn Bridgen. Buddig leaves to cherish her memory her two children and their families: son Barry (Bev) of Good Spirit Acres and their two sons: Dean (Janice) Bradshaw and daughters Sarah and Megan of Kelowna; and Rick (Maureen) Bradshaw and daughters Emily, Erica and Claire of Yorkton; daughter Janice (Tony) Kotyk of Dauphin, and their two daughters: Tammy deGroot of Winnipeg, and Jamie Kotyk (fiancé Adam Hansson) of Spruce Woods, MB. Also one sister: Eunice Purtell of Kingston, ON; two brothers: Lloyd Jones of Saskatoon and Albert (Lillian) Jones of Surrey BC; a sister-in-law: Rose Bradshaw of Yorkton; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and her many other relatives and friends. Cremation took place at Bailey's Memorial Gardens Crematorium.
