I am so very sorry for the loss of Dr. Groenenwold. I had the privilege of having him at a walk in appointment. Not only did he fix what ailed me but he also allievated my fears of cancer. He was also the only Dr who could pronounce my last name and then proceeded to tell me how the Dutch pronounced it.That one visit really made me like him alot. To his family may all your memories of the Dr. Hold you through this terrible time. Blessings on you all.

My heart is broken, I am so grateful to have had my last laugh with you at my last appointment. I still can't believe you are gone. My favorite Doctor who could ever replace such a soul like you. You have always held a special place within our family you and your wife. Thank you for 20 years of service to our family and giving us the best care for all four of our children and myself with every surgery after each of them. Thank you for always allowing me to be the appointment for the smoke breaks because you knew we didn't mind lol we still laugh about it today. Thank you for the heart to heart talks and taking the time to always enjoy our company in the office and out about in the city from time to time. I have cried many tears but we know you are in heaven. We thank the lord he took you peacefully. We wish you were still here, but the good lord knew you needed to rest. Your hard work, success and work on this earth is completed. You were always on the go, always working hard. Piet Groenewald was a deer friend and colleague for many years. Piet was super intelligent and very sharp. Piet was a man of many talents and a great sense of humour. He was a very smart man and excellent physician. I consulted him on many occasions for myself or a friend need of urgent help. He will always return my call or swing by at the office. My condolences go to his family. Dr. Groenewald was an excellent doctor and I was always looking forward to seeing him. He always went above and beyond and was very helpful. He was a special and unique character as well, very genuine and authentic. I enjoyed his sense of humour and his straightforward way. I think he was one of the very few people, who stayed true to himself and I respected him strongly for that. It saddens me deeply, but I will not forget him and keep him in my memories with a smile.

Family Doctors are almost impossible to come by. I saw the Good Dr. In the walk in clinic. He listened , took my vitals and told me so matter of fact “ your blood pressure is on the verge of a stroke, do you know that?!”. Obviously I said no. He said “ I’m not accepting patients, you won’t give me any trouble will you?”
I said obviously “no”. He said. I need to think about this I’ll
Be back. He came back about 5 minutes later ( smoke break.. as a smoker I knew) and he said, ok. I’ll take you on.
He was a unique but authentic man. They do not make Dr’s like him anymore. Sending love and healing wishes to the family.

Dr. G was one of Nick’s favourite DRs to see. He always took the time to talk to Nick and treated him with such respect and kindness. Not many DRs would take their Rolex off and let their patient try it on. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Groenewald family. Gods speed Peter and rest easy!

I want to pass on my condolences to the family of Dr. Groenwald. I had the privilege of working with him at the Yorkton Hospital and it was always a pleasure to see him. He was a brilliant physician.
