Vincent Wlock

Obituary of Vincent Wlock

Vincent Walter Wlock entered his eternal rest on Thursday, May 5, 2023, at St. Peters Hospital in Melville, SK. with his family by his side. He was 91 years of age.  Vincent was born on February 12, 1932. He was the eldest son of John and Mary (Dubiel) Wlock of Fenwood, SK.

Vincent grew up on the farm near Fenwood, SK. He attended Maxwelton School. After he completed his schooling, Vincent spent his time helping on the family farm.  Years’ later in the early 50’s he moved to Toronto for a winter where he tried his hand working at a factory. Not long after that, Vincent returned to the farm where he knew his heart always belonged.  On August 16, 1958, Vincent married the love of his life, Violet Karipita of the Jedburgh District.  In the spring of 1961, they bought their own land where they eventually built a house, and raised their three children: Rodney, Randy, and Rhonda. Vincent loved the farm; he was a man who had a dream that inspired three more generations.  His love for farming and lifestyle meant everything to him.  He was blessed with the best neighbours that became like family to him.  He often helped them out with construction projects on their homes and was known as the community veterinarian.

Vincent was humble and kind. A wonderful father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a great friend.  He loved music and was a self-taught musician. He played many different instruments over the years including the banjo, accordion, and violin. You could always rely on the accordion or banjo making an appearance at family events.  He joined his buddies in a band where they played at many weddings and events together. In his leisure time, he enjoyed doing carpentry work, playing pool, and cards.  In his senior years, he spent many hours tending to his garden and looking after the yard.  In June of 1997, Vincent and Violet moved to Melville to retire. Farming was always in his blood and though he moved to Melville, he never lost passion for the farm.  Rodney would always find the odd job to keep him busy and happy.  Vincent never missed his yearly combine ride at harvest, even at 91 years old he still climbed that ladder to go for his annual ride.

Vincent was predeceased by his loving wife Violet, parents John and Mary Wlock and two brothers Ed and Raymond.  Vincent is survived by his son Rodney (Sherri), Tyler, Brittany (Theron), Kenzie and Danni, Troy (Amber), Nixon, Karver, Paisley, and Emerson. Courtney (Matthew), Kolby and Kolson. Son Randy (Shelley), Shaylyn, Alecia (Manny), Azalea. Daughter Rhonda (Don), Meagan (Shane), Riley (Brooklyn), Harper and Amelia.  Vincent leaves behind his family who will forever cherish the memories he made with them for many years to come.
