Obituary of Richard Pretula

With great sadness the family of the late Richard Pretula, beloved husband of Marlene Pretula of Spruce Grove, AB, announce his passing at Westview Hospice Stony Plain, AB June 12, 2022 at the age of 76 years of age.

He loved spending time fishing, playing pool, playing cards (especially cribbage) and spending time with friends and family.

Richard was pre deceased by his parents; Michael and Nellie. He leaves cherished memories for his wife Marlene (49 years), daughters; Terri (Darren), Janet (Chad) , his grandchildren; Brandon (Shaley),Kaidence, Bailey and Jaylyn. Along with his great grandchildren; Brinley, Paisley and Rylan.

He will be incredibly missed by all the family and friends who have had the pleasure of knowing him.

The Funeral Service was held on Saturday, May 13, 2023 from the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Crystal Bailey, Certified Celebrant officiating. Merv Catchuk gave the eulogy. Musical selections shared were “Jealous of the Angels” by Donna Taggart, “There You’ll Be” by Faith Hill, and “Home” by Daughtry. The interment followed in the Garden of Crucifixion, Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Chad Johnston, Brandon Stoudt, Gilbert Boulanger, and Tevin Gibler serving as casket bearers. Memorial donations in Richard’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (55 St Clair Avenue West, Suite 500 Toronto, Ontario M4V 2Y7) as gifts of remembrance.
