Eileen Sorgard, beloved wife of Charles Sorgard passed away peacefully on May 18th, 2023 in Langenburg, Saskatchewan at the age of 69 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Eileen was born on April 17th, 1954 to Ernest and Helen Dunn in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. She moved to Lethbridge, Alberta to follow her career in nursing and it was there she met the love of her life Charles Sorgard and they were married in 1977. After a few years in the Arctic where Charles (rebranded Chuck by Eileen) flew helicopters they returned to the Iron Springs area to farm and raise their four children.
While in the North West Territories Eileen accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour and it completely changed her life. "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." 2 Corinthians 5:17. For the rest of her life she was a zealous Christian who put her Saviour first in every area of her life. Her family was especially blessed by her strong faith.
In 2009 supporting her husband and son's dreams of farming in Saskatchewan she cheerfully left her home of 35 years and moved to Davidson, SK and in 2013 to Churchbridge, SK.
Her love for her husband, children, and grandchildren was both limitless and sacrificial.
Eileen is survived by husband Charles, four children; Stefan (Sherra), Graham (Emily), Lindsey (Austin), Erin (Bradley) and 20 grandchildren. She is also survived by 5 siblings; John , Thelma, Lawrence, Pat, and Joan.
She was predeceased by her parents Ernest and Helen Dunn.
