Obituary of Daniel John Bilick

The family of Daniel Bilick, beloved husband of Sonya, sadly announce his passing on Sunday, July 23, 2023. He was 71 years of age.

Prayers will be held on Friday, July 28th at 7:00pm from the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre (HWY #10 E).

The Funeral will be held on Saturday, July 29th at 10:30am also from the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Father Leonid Malkov presiding.

Memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan as gifts of remembrance.

Daniel John Bilick, born April 18, 1952 in Watson, SK to John and Nora Bilick. At two years old they moved to Kamsack where he attended his schooling. He met the love of his life and high school sweetheart Sonia, married November 11, 1972. Danny chose to be an auto body mechanic and attended SIAST, Saskatoon and moved to Calgary to finish his apprenticeship and received his Journeyman Interprovincial Red Seal at SAIT. He took great pride in all he did; he was a perfectionist.

Danny enjoyed many vacations to Hawaii, Mexico, Italy, Palm Springs and Vegas. Palm Springs being their favorite. Danny enjoyed life to the fullest. An avid fisherman to many lakes, most memorable being salmon fishing at the Queen Charlotte Islands with sons Jason and Craig. His grandchildren were very special to him as they were all number one to him. He enjoyed spending time with them – watching their sports activities, playing golf, fishing, taking them for ice cream in the summers.

Thank you to the nurses and caregivers who provided care and comfort to Danny during his battle with cancer in Saskatoon and Yorkton hospitals, including the palliative and home-care teams that assisted throughout.

Danny fought a good battle to the end and died peacefully on July 23, 2023, surrounded by his loving wife Sonia and sons, Jason and Craig.

Danny is survived by his wife Sonia, son Jason and wife Tara (Kael, Makayla, Makenna), son Craig and wife Stacie (Brody, Presley, Bronson) both of Calgary, AB, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Ron and Joanne Zarchikoff, Kamsack, SK, Metro Zawada, Yorkton, SK, Stan and Liz Rotinsky, Qualicum Beach, BC, Dennis and Jackie Dubasov, Calgary, AB, and many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by parents John and Nora Bilick, sister Virginia Zarchikoff, father and mother-in-law, Steven and Nettie Rotinsky, sister-in-law Betty Zawada and brother-in-law Walter Rotinsky.

He will be sadly missed and will always hold a place in our hearts.
