Elsie Raddysh

Obituary of Elsie Raddysh

Elsie (Kowal) Raddysh was born on March 18, 1926 in Kessock Landing, Saskatchewan, west of Wroxton. Elsie married William “Bill” Raddysh on February 18, 1947 in Vernon, B. C. When first married they farmed in the Beaverdale district of Saskatchewan. They moved back to Vernon after selling the farm. Later they missed Saskatchewan and returned to reside in Theodore for many years. Elsie enjoyed gardening and took pride in her flower gardens. Elsie and Bill moved in 2004 to Queen Elizabeth Court in Yorkton. Elsie enjoyed the social events and made many friendships which she cherished. She lived independently with the support of Pam and Randy who she enjoyed spending time with.

She moved to a personal care home in August of 2023 but looked forward to visiting at Pam and Randy’s.

Elsie was proud when her great great nephew, Krew was born on her birthday, as she had predicted. She spoke of him as “My Birthday Boy”.

She was “Aunty Elsie” to many people including hospital staff in Yorkton and Saskatoon. Her friends of many ages fell in love with her personality. She enjoyed cribbage, bingo and gardening with Pam. Until her passing her mind remained sharp.

Elsie passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre. She was 97 years of age.

She leaves to mourn her sister, Betty Mikalishen of Vernon, BC; brother-in-law, Tony Raddysh of Kingston, Ontario; Pam Raddysh (Randall Diduck) of Yorkton, SK., Sylvia (Randal) Semeniuk of Winnipeg, MB., Randy Lemke (Chris Culham) of Lloydminster, AB. and numerous other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

We will miss you Elsie…
