Obituary of Leonard Antonishyn
Mr. Leonard Raymond Micheal Antonishyn was born November 2, 1952, on the farm to parents Catherine (nee Krywulak) and Walter Antonishyn.
Leonard attended Walkerville school until 1964, when he caught the school bus for Kelliher. Leonard graduated in the summer of 1972. He helped on the family farm as well as neighbors until 1974, then started working for Saskatchewan Wheat Pool, in Kelliher, Hubbard, and Foam Lake. On August 25, 1990, Leonard married Marie Chaikowsky of Ituna.
Leonard quit his employment with the Pool in 1992, and began farming the family farm. Leonard downsized the farm operations in 2006, and started working with Kelliher Co-op. Leonard and Marie moved to Kelliher in 2012, and in 2020, Leonard retired from the Co-op.
Throughout Leonard’s life he was member of the Foam Lake Lions Club, Foam Lake & Ituna Knights of Columbus, Kelliher Legion, Parish Council Committee at Saint Stanislous and Margaret Mary, Parkland Agriculture Society, and Saskatchewan Wheat Pool Committee. Leonard enjoyed farming, gardening, puzzles, and visiting family and friends.
Leonard passed away on October 18, at the Ituna Health Centre at the age of 70, with his wife at his side.
Leonard was predeaceased by his parents, Walter and Catherine Antonishyn; in-laws Stanley and Anne Chaikowsky; and brother-in-law Nick Chaikowsky.
Leonard leaves to mourn his passing, his beloved wife, Marie, of 33 years; son Stanley (Celina) Antonishyn; his three granddaughters, Marley, twins Remi & Bridgette; Sisters Frances (Mervin) Krett, Linda Bordass, Bernadette (Les) Caragata and their families.
