Obituary of Vicky Zaharia

The Family of Vicky Zaharia of Yorkton, beloved wife of Nick Zaharia sadly announce her passing on Friday, October 27, 2023. She was 82 years of age.

The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 2 at 2:00p.m. from Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Crystal Bailey, Certified Celebrant officiating.

The interment will follow in the Trinity Columbarium at Yorkton Memorial Gardens.

Memorials in memory of Vicky Zaharia may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation as gifts of remembrance.

With deep sadness we mourn the passing of Victoria Zaharia (nee Kopeck) a wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

Victoria was born on November 6, 1940 in the Canora hospital to Edward and Helen Kopeck (nee Homenuik). She went to school at Wasyla and later to Poplar Springs in the Burgis Beach district. When she finished school, she worked as a waitress in Canora. Victoria met Nick in 1968 and moved to Yorkton. In 1972 they were married. Nick then became a stepfather to Steven Michael Drozd. Steven was born on November 24, 1961.

She worked in Yorkton at Zeller’s, Woolworth’s, MacLeod’s, Saan for Kids and ended her retail career at Agnew Shoes as an assistant manager in 1999.

Vicky was predeceased by her parents Edward and Helen, brother Walter, sisters Violet and Virginia and two of her nephews.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 51 years, Nick, son Steven Michael and grandson Steven Nicholas Drozd as well as many nieces and nephews.
