What a wonderful and inspiring memory of your mom. Thank you.
My heart is broken. It is difficult for me to reconcile the fact that I won't be seeing my sister again; won't be hearing her voice on the phone; won't be reading anymore silly messages from her; won't be receiving any loving cards in the mail. I am so lonesome for her! And, there are many times a day that I say to myself, 'I have to tell Carole about this!' or, 'I must ask Carole about that.'
Being 4 years younger than Carole, she was MY sister whom I was so proud of. The beautiful blonde who turned many a head! The sister who kept me in silence about her pranks by threats! Oh, the memories.
When I was 12, she married the man of her dreams. It was like watching a princess meet her prince. I was in awe of this loving couple. Wow! And they remained together until the end. Married young and everlasting.
Carole was only 16 and yet she took on the job of cooking for a 12 man crew. I was so proud of her. 6 years later, Carole became a mom for the first time. An incredibly beautiful baby girl arrived in their lives.
Over the years, 2 more kids added to the Novak Tribe (as Moe called them). Carole was a caring, loving, fun mom.
My sister was always there for me. I made many trips to Moose Jaw for week long visits with my kids in tow. I wonder now at Walter's patience with these winter visits. He was a good man! Carole and I shared so much and were at times joined at our hips for the summer months at Turtle Lake. All wonderful memories.
Carole was an expert seamstress. She and I sewed and crafted together for years. She produced so many quilts and afghans and shawls for all of us. We have many of these treasures to remember her by. I am thankful.
She was also a great homemaker. Gardening, canning, working. Always baking and cooking and welcomed anyone into their home. We exchanged many cooking and baking recipes over the years. My recipe box will always be a sweet reminder of her.
I never heard my sister say a mean thing about anyone. She loved fully and truly. She was definitely an inspiration to me.
Carole loved the Lord and passed that on to her children. She was always praying for someone! Carole cared about everyone she met.
I was so fortunate to visit with Carole, in Ituna, during June of this year. Even though she was struggling and making very tough decisions, she remained smiling, positive and loving.
During this time of sorrow I still celebrate my "Seester" and I will continue to miss her forever.
I want to thank Amber, Linden, Aden and Teegan for caring for my sister. My heart is full.
