I was saddened today to learn of Kelvin's passing. I spent a number of years coaching hockey with Kelvin in Yorkton as we watched over and participated in our sons lives. He was a dedicated and hard working guy and I remember fondly our many many hours of ice time, bench time and strategy planning over rink burgers in every arena in Saskatchewan over the years. Kelvin was also fearless and on more than one occasion when an 'overly wrought' parent from the opposing team would get too involved, it was always Kelvin who they met, with his confident smile and slight growl, that convinced them to calm down and go the other way, quickly! He always had my back, the team's and anyone's who he stood with. Kelvin was well like, well respected by everyone that knew him.
