Kalya Leask

Obituary of Kalya Leask

The Sparvier, Haywahe and Leask families announce with heavy hearts the Creator called home their beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cuzzin and auntie, Kalya Margaret Sadie Leask on January 18, 2024.

Kalya was welcomed into the world in Yorkton, Sask. on September 12, 2007 to parents Tammy Sparvier and Myles "Doog" Leask. Kalya is pre-deceased by grandfather Lionel "Rook" Sparvier (Papa) and cousin Delrae Sparvier.

She is survived by her mom Tammy Sparvier; dad Myles "Doog" Leask; siblings Kesslin (Eric-Tylar and Tessi-Blaire), Keidre, Kael, Kaverlee, and Kaysen; and numerous families from her Sparvier, Haywahe, and Leask relations.

Kalya had such a talented hand for art, she was never seen without her iPad and pen. She left behind pieces of herself in every single work of art she created, from doodle to canvas paintings. She was funny and silly, always making those around her laugh.

Kalya had a fond love for clouds, the sky, and the weather. As a young girl, she wanted to be a stormchaser when she grew up, always fascinated by tornadoes. You could always find her taking photos and videos of every storm, wishing out loud for them to come. If you wanted to know what kind of clouds were in the sky, all you had to do was ask and Kalya would tell you everything you needed to know and then some. Our Kalya is now back up on her cloud where she always felt she belonged. We will miss you, pretty princess.

The Wake was held on Sunday, January 21, 2024 and the Funeral Service was held on Monday, January 22, 2024 both from the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre. Kalya was laid to rest in the Sparvier family burial site, Cowessess First Nation with Kael Sparvier, Kobe Sparvier, Everett "Kojak" Leask, Everett "Macho Man" Leask, Howard Leask and Jake Haywahe serving as casket bearers.
