It is with great sadness that the family of Eugene Korchinski, announce his passing on January 20, 2024, at the age of 83.

He was predeceased by his loving wife Patricia (nee Godlien), his parents Lucy and Mike Korchinski, brother Emil (Shiela Adolphe) Korchinski, sister in laws Chrissy Ozipko, Jean Leont, Geraldine Unger, and brother-in-law Donny Godlien.

Bob is lovingly remembered by his daughters Corinne (John) Sopel, Arlene (Bernie) Patron, and Cheryl (Murray) Markham; Grandchildren, Colton Sopel (Reilly) , CaSandra Sopel (Matt) , Alysia (Kevin) Bewcyk, Ashley Patron, Angela Patron (Cody), Bradley Patron, Tanner Markham, Troy Markham; Great Grandchildren Sylvie Patron, and Eli, Ava and Ana Bewcyk; Brother Ernie (Pat) Korchinski; In-laws Lorne (Heather) Godlien, Arty (Sharon) Godlien, Kenny (Mary Anne) Godlien, Neil (Elaine) Godlien, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and good friends.

Bob was born December 6, 1940, on the family farm in the Tullymet district and attended Wyber School. He married the love of his life, Patricia Godlien on July 4, 1964. They moved to Alberta shortly after and later returned to Tullymet to farm with his parents and start a family. Together they grain farmed and ran a dairy cattle operation, which Bob was very proud of.  After selling the dairy in 1982 he worked for Universal Genetics and met many cattle farmers throughout Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Alberta. He was passionate about cattle and helped his three daughters show cattle as they grew up. Bob and Pat also belonged to the Wyber community group and enjoyed many dances and functions with family and friends.

The time to retire finally came and they moved to Ituna. Bob’s priority was always caring for Pat. You could always hear “Bobby” being called followed by his bright smile, happy to help. He was the true definition of a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.  He loved being outside, bird watching, fishing, and growing a luscious garden every year and most of all spending time with family. He cherished his family. He made sure everyone knew how much he loved them. He shared a very special bond with his nephew Kirby throughout the years. His grandchildren were all very special to him, he was so proud of each one of them. He enjoyed sharing his love for the outdoors with them all, and always cherished their visits with all their pets. His great-grandchildren held a special place in his heart as they would light up the room and keep him laughing.

The last year was tough for Bob without the love by his side anymore. He kept a positive spirit, grew a bountiful garden, and even learnt how to text and video call his kids, but unfortunately his health quickly declined.  Bob passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on January 20, 2024 at the RGH. His bright smile and wit will be missed dearly by us all, but we will all find peace in knowing he is reunited with his love.
