Brandy Nicole Maserek (Trowell), also known as Boo Boo, Bran Bran, Nic and Bean to her closest family and friends, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 25, 2024 in her hometown of Yorkton, SK not long after celebrating her 40th birthday.

Brandy was born to Valerie Balyx (Froese) and Donavon Trowell on January 3, 1984. Her childhood was spent in Calgary with her mother (Val Balyx), stepdad (Andy Balyx), and little sister (Sara Trowell). She spent her teenage years living in Yorkton with her dad (Don Trowell) and finding out she had a half-brother, Kris Liebrecht. At age 18, she moved back to Calgary and spent 10 years there, usually working two jobs, waitressing and working multiple other jobs.

In her spare time, you could usually find her cooking up a storm in the kitchen or hanging out with friends. Brandy enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, cooking, dancing, music, sitting around the fire pit going to the spa, watching movies in bed with her many fur babies, and hosting dinner parties for her family and friends, where she loved being the centre of attention and was usually the life of the party. Brandy considered her friends her extended family and loved every one of them.

After the passing of her mother on September 13, 2015, Brandy relocated back to her hometown of Yorkton, SK and struggled to regain her footing in life. On September 22, 2018 she married Marly Maserek in a ceremony surrounded by friends and family. On June 4, 2020 –fulfilling Brandys lifelong dream of becoming a mother – they welcomed her most precious gift in life, her daughter Valliann Maserek. Valliann was her miracle baby, her pride and joy, and her greatest accomplishment in life.

Brandy is predeceased by her grandfather, Robert Froese; grandfather, Cecil Trowell; grandma, Mary Trowell; mother, Val Balyx; father, Don Trowell; Uncle Rob; and step-brother, Jamie Balyx.

Brandy leaves behind her daughter, Valliann Maserek; husband, Marly Maserek; younger sister Sara Trowell; brother, Kris Liebrecht (Chelsea); grandma, Ann Froese; stepdad, Andy Balyx; uncle, Bill Froese; aunts, Denise (Lionel) Mcrae and Lynn (Ken) Morrison; great-aunt Laurie (Chris) Nielson; as well as countless extended family and friends.
