Rest in peace, Joyce. You were a strong supporter of Good Spirit Lake area and I loved it. You always had a story to tell when
I came to pick up the mail and at times I was lucky to be graced with a gratis wrapped bubble gum or candy. You gave me books and magazines to read, and for that I was so grateful. Your husband Bill was a classmate of mine and we were always challenging each other to be top of the class (of two). We took turns and there was always a laugh at the outcome.
I still have the book you wrote Joyce. Now it will be my treasure. Thank you and again, rest in Peace.

Sending deepest condolences the family. As children we were fortunate to call her “Auntie Joyce” . We spent many hours sweeping her store front at the lake just to earn an ice cream. On behalf of all the Switzer (Ed & Min) kids thanks Auntie Joyce for always treating us like one of your own. Her wisdom, beautiful laugh will always be remembered

Joyce was a lovely lady and a fountain of knowledge, especially on the sand dunes and history of Good Spirit Lake. As a direct descendent of Donald Gunn she and husband Bill were keepers of the sand dunes and the history and secrets that lie within. I so enjoyed walking the dunes with her and hearing the stories of her grandpas trading post, Gunn's beach and all the excitement that surrounded that area during those times. She was an excellent story teller as her writings attest and so glad she left behind many of the stories of the area. She is with Bill again, walking the dunes :)

Joyce was a lovely lady; I enjoyed our visits at the RM. Joyce is totally responsible for my now lifelong journey into researching my family genealogy. A good life lived...
