Obituary of Shari Lynn Hoehn
Shari Lynn (Penner) Hoehn was born October 24,1973, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to proud parents, Carol and Hartley Penner. Shari spent most of her younger years in Frontier, Saskatchewan. She enjoyed hanging out with her friends, spending many hours biking around town, and hanging out at the pool all summer long. As was family tradition, she graduated from high school at LCBI in Outlook. She took part in many school sports, piano lessons, and if you couldn’t find her, she would be curled up with a book. Shari had a few different careers, starting with working at Forzani’s, and finishing with many years of running a daycare business out of her home. Shari met Joel, the love of her life, while he was attending school in Saskatoon. They married October 5, 2002 in Neudorf, SK, and made their home in Yorkton, Sk. They were blessed with two children, Colby (2004) and Kayla (2008).
Shari passed suddenly, at the age of 50, while in Mexico with her husband, and close friends. She was predeceased by her older sister Lori Ann Penner in 1972, her father Hartley Penner November 4, 2023, as well as her Godfather Arnold Njaa, and grandparents.
Shari is survived by her loving husband Joel Hoehn and her children she loved so much, Kayla and Colby. Also, her mother, Carol Penner, sister Wendy (Lorne) Albertson, and their three children Christian, Rachel and Caleb of Saskatoon. Shari will also be missed by Joels parents Garry and Sherry Hoehn; brothers in law Derrick (Amanda) Hoehn and their children (Caiden and Emma); Mitch (Meghan) and their children (West and Briggs- who is also Joel and Shari’s godson); and sister in law Jenna Hoehn, as well as her Godmother and aunt, Fern (Njaa) Anderson of Saskatoon. She will be missed by her aunts, uncles, cousins, and many close friends.
Shari has always enjoyed reading, watching movies with the family, spending time at the farm, sewing jean blankets and trying new recipes. In the summer she lived for weekends at the lake, spending time with her family and closest friends. She loved the heat of the sun, time at the dunes, and jokes with her friends. Shari had a passion for investing not only in her own children, but in other children. Many lives have been touched by her through her daycare. Finding joy, and the humor in things was a true gift. Her giggle was infectious.
Shari, you touched so many lives, and will be missed so much by so many. We know you will be in our hearts always, and trust we will meet again one day in heaven. May you rest in the arms of Jesus.
The Funeral Service was held on Sunday, March 10, 2024 from the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Rev D.J Kim officiating. Accompanist Amanda Buhler led the congregation in the hymns. Mith Hoehn welcomed everyone and Wendy Albertson gave the eulogy. Lorilei Happy read Psalm 23. A private famiy burial preceded at the Neudorf Town Cemetery with Joel, Kayla and Colby serving as urn bearers.
